Soaring is a form of flying that I have just recently (summer of 2007) taken up. So content on this page is likely to grow.
I first went up in a glider in Hollister, CA
Here's a picture just after my first solo in a glider in Truckee, CA. One of the best places to soar in CA --- or anywhere in the USA from what I have heard.
I got certified on 7-24-2007 and have been flying this Grob 103.
The Grob belongs to the club I just joined, BASA.
And this is me and a friend on a long (> 6 hour) glider flight
